Charges Filed in Oliver Boat Landing Theft

09/25/2014

A suspect was arrested and charged in Douglas County Court this week in connection with the vehicle break-in at the Oliver Boat Landing on September 1st.  The case drew wide attention when a photo of a female suspect using credit cards stolen in the break-in was posted to the Sheriff’s Office Facebook Page.  The post reach was over 26,000 views.

A tipster identified the suspect and vehicle from the posted photo and her identity was confirmed by investigators.  Another tip this week provided the location of the suspect.

Investigators executed a search warrant at the Manning Motel in Superior on Tuesday afternoon Sept 23rd.  The suspect was questioned and admitted to breaking into the vehicle and using the stolen credit cards.

She is identified as Meranda M. Rosenberg, 25, Superior.  She told investigators that she deleted her facebook account and scrapped the van after they appeared on the Sheriff's facebook.
