Fire destroyed a Town of Lakeside home on Saturday night. Crews were called to 8275E Old Hwy 13 at 11:50pm on Oct 31. There they found the structure fully involved.

Owners Kevin and Lisa Johnson reported they heard a loud pop and smoke started filling the house. They got out of the house and called 911. Two of three dogs got out of the house but a third could not be located.

Cause of the blaze is under investigation by Lakeside VFD and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Volunteer Fire Departments from Amnicon, Poplar, Maple and Parkland, as well as Gold Cross Ambulance, also assisted on scene.
