Sheriff Matthew Izzard
Term: 2023-
Matt is a lifelong resident of Douglas County. He graduated from Superior Senior HS in 1995 and WITC-Superior with an associates degree in 1998.
He began his career at the Douglas County Sheriff's Office in 2003 as a Jail Officer. In 2015 he applied and was hired as a Patrol Deputy and in 2020 assigned to Investigations as a Detective.
Matt has over ten years experience as an instructor at WITC/Northwoods Technical College specializing in law enforcement and jail topics.
In 2022 Matt was elected Douglas County Sheriff from a field of three and took office on Jan. 2, 2023.
