Plane Lands on Highway

Southbound USH 53 in the Town of Bennett became a make-shift runway today when an airplane experiencing mechanical difficulties made an off-airport landing at about 12:09pm.
No injuries or property damage were reported by the pilot and lone occupant of the aircraft, nor to persons or traffic on the ground.
The aircraft was pulled off the highway onto the crossover between the north and southbound lanes at the Bennett Rd. The crossover will remain closed until the aircraft is removed.
